So many rescues are in need of foster homes, so many dogs in need of forever homes…what’s going on?

I currently have 3 dogs in foster care from various rescues…never had as many in all the time I have been involved with rescue.  People seem to be abandoning dogs for the slightest reasons.  I have one little dog, April, a rat terrier x.  She was abandoned because the daughter left for college and the parents didn’t want to take care of her!  I can’t believe that one…my daughter would kill me!

How does that conversation go….”Alainna, Hi, it’s Mom…I just got rid of Faye, Skye and K.C. cause they are “your” dogs and I don’t feel like taking care of them any more.  So how’s school going?”
